We were alerted last night, via Eljero Elia's twitter account, that not only was he playing Pro Evo against Liverpool's Ryan Babel, but that Babel was broadcasting it live over the internet for the whole world to watch. To a soundtrack of rather dubious music and dressed to the nines in their official Dutch gear they picked their respective teams - Elia was Barcelona, Babel a rather cockier and controversial selection of Manchester City, which led to a peculiar situation when Nigel de Jong came in to watch the match. Babel was certainly the more self-assured player, however they were playing on an English version, and I'm not entirely sure how much they were getting out of Mark "Lawro" Lawrenson's subtletys.
Injury News
Jozy Altidore is back in training after his ankle knock, Makoto Hasebe went to hospital yesterday to check out some pain that he was having on his hip and Nani has picked up a shoulder injury whilst attempting an acrobatic shot in training, but he doesn't think it's that bad and says that it is 'in the coaches hands' whether he plays or not. Portugal's crucial first match is against Cote D'Ivoire this time next week.

Shaun Wright-Phillips started for England in their warm-up match against local side The Platinum Allstars, although he failed to get on the scoresheet England ran out 3-0 winners.
Palombo: "I would pay out of my own pocket to win with Italy"
17 pureblood Angelo Palombo has hit back at critics who suggest that Italy should not be paying their players win bonuses in these hard-up financial times (tm). He told La Gazzetta Dello Sport that "Reducing the bonuses? I'd pay out of my own pocket to win the World Cup", although he then contradicted that by saying he'd quite fancy the bonus anyway.
