Likelihood of starting the tournament?
Unlikely. Aaron Lennon will almost certainly start for England on the right wing. Unless Aaron Lennon gets injured, or plays poorly, I would not expect us to see Shaun Wright-Phillips make anything more the substitute appearances.
Commitment to shirt number? Little to none. Has never worn the shirt at club level. However, in Fabio Capello's first match in charge of the England team Wright-Phillips appeared as a substitute in the number 17 shirt and got on the scoresheet. Perhaps this was at the back of the managers mind when he made his selection? Also, Wright-Phillips has adopted the number 17 shirt from David Beckham, who had taken to wearing it during his later England appearances.
